Műcsarnok Palace of Arts is the definitive exhibition gallery in Hungary for the contemporary arts. Conceived on the model of the German Kunsthalles, the neo-Renaissance building was erected in 1896, for the country’s Millennial celebrations.
"Our mission is to mediate, present and influence Hungarian and international trends and phenomena in the contemporary visual arts."

Ernst Museum and Dorottya Gallery are part of Műcsarnok Art Palace.
Organisers and curators shape the exhibition programme of Ernst Museum and Dorottya Gallery, which are now part of Műcsarnok, in this spirit: the former hosts projects – thematic solo and group exhibitions – that reflect on the social and urban environment quickly and flexibly, while the latter specializes in presenting promising young talents, beside well-established artists.

Ludwig Museum - Museum of Contemporary Art

Ludwig Museum - Museum of Contemporary Art collects and displays masterworks of modern and contemporary art. The permanent collection contains valuable pieces of American pop art (Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenburg, Robert Rauschenberg etc.). Yet focusing on Eastern and Central European art, it also puts a special emphasis on presenting the Hungarian art of the 60's to recent days in an international context. Besides, temporary exhibitions showcase leading artists of the international scene as well as the best-known Hungarian masters.

Musum of Fine Arts
The Museum of Fine Arts (Szépművészeti Múzeum) is a museum in Heroes Square, facing the Műcsarnok Palace of Art. The musum's collection is made up of six departments: Egyptian, Antique, Old sculpture gallery, Old painter gallery, Modern collection, Graphics collection. The collection is made up of international art (other than Hungarian), including all periods of European art, and comprises more than 100,000 pieces.

Hungarian National Gallery
The Hungarian National Gallery is the largest public collection documenting and presenting the rise and development of the fine arts in Hungary. Moved to its present location, the former Royal Palace of Buda, in 1975.
